Vermouth is a fortified wine that is flavored with various botanicals (roots, barks, flowers, seeds, herbs, and spices). It comes in many styles from white extra dry (you know it as an ingredient of the famous Dry Martini 🍸), to red and sweet with pronounced spice flavors.
As we know it today, Vermouth was created in mid 18th century in Turin, Italy.

Natuurwijn, natuurlijke wijn of vin naturel. Wat betekent het eigenlijk? Er is geen officiële definitie voor natuurwijnen. Volgens Maud van Berlo, de eigenaresse van Rotterdamse natuurwijnwinkel, Blije Wijnen: ‘‘Natuurwijnen zijn gerijpt zonder chemische middelen op de wijngaard, de druiven zijn handgeplukt, er is helemaal niets toegevoegd in het proces (behalve een minimale hoeveelheid sulfiet).’’
OK, dat is toch hetzelfde als biologische of biodynamische wijnen? Time to clear the air once and for all! Natuurwijn is gewoon gefermenteerd druivensap. Er is niets anders toegevoegd.
